The Day of Recollection took place on Saturday, 1 March at the reception house: the Oasis of Saint-Joseph.

The theme of the day was:  Asceticism and Spiritual Life.
Bishop Marc told the group of retreatants of the need for a regular practice of fasting, the Jesus Prayer, the offices, the sacraments and of special importance, spiritual counsel by a monk or priest.

Far from being an unpleasant austerity, asceticism, in Christ, must be an art of living adapted by everyone, opening up inner peace and joy.  

In the afternoon, a prayer-walk of about 15 kilometres was undertaken to the sanctuary of Saint Joseph of Dresny, at the close of day.
