Blessing of the dead before the coffin is closed
The funeral ceremonies of Fr Mikael took place in the presence of the family and many friends and faithful from France and abroad
The Bishops of the Communion of Western Orthodox churches, clergy from the Catholic and protestant churches, and those sympathetic to our monastery were present. Many messages of condolence were sent by those unable to attend. The monks sang the Canticle of Saint Francis of Assisi before the coffin was lowered into the ground. Father Mikael' was interred in the cemetry at teh monastery. This is open to the faithful and visiters on Sundays and great feasts from 11:30 to 13:30.
