Meditation
Come, true light.
Come, light eternal.
Come, hidden mystery.
Come, treasure without name.
Come, unutterable reality.
Come, happiness without end.
Come, light without setting.
Come, the wakening of those who rest.
Come, resurrection of the dead.
Come, O Powerful, who makes all and all is refreshed and transformed by Your will alone.
Come, You Who always remains still but in every moment directs all completely.
Come to us, resting in hell, O You Who rests above the heavens.
Come, joy eternal.
Come, You Who desired and desires my miserable soul.
Come, You Alone, to the alone, for you see, I am alone.
Come, You Who separated me from all and made solitary in this world.
Come, You Who made manifest Yourself in my desire, You the absolutely inaccessible.
Come, my breath and my life.
Come, consolation of my poor soul.
Come, my joy, my glory, my delight without end.
I give You thanks for becoming at one in spirit with myself, without confusion, without change, without transformation, You God above all, and for me becoming all in all, inexpressible nourishment and perfectly free, dazzling vesture, purification which bathes me from those holy and imperishable tears that Your presence brings to those whom You visit. I thank You for becoming my light which does not extinguish, sun which does not diminish; because You do not hide in one place, you whose glory fills the universe!
No, You never hide from anyone, but always we hide from You, in refusing to go to You: why would You hide yourself, You who turns from no one, Who pushes none away?
Come then, Master, today overshadow me; make Your house and dwell continually in me, Your servant, inseparable, until the end, O Most Good, and that I also, at my leaving this world and at my end, I find myself in You, O Most Good, and reign with You, God Who is above all.
Yes Master, just as You remembered me when I was in the world and in the midst of my ignorance, it is You Who chose me and separated from this world and placed me before Your glory, in the same way, keep my inner being, now and always, steadfast through Your dwelling in me: that You perpetually seeing me, the dead, I live: that You possessing me, the poor, I would be always rich; that in eating and drinking You, I am clothed in every instant by you, and I go from delight to delight in inexpressible joy: because it is You Who are all good and all glory and all delight, and to You belongs all glory, consubstantial and life-giving Trinity, You Whom all the faithful venerate, confess, adore and serve, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and always and to the age of ages. Amen.
